PM Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s “time-tested” partnership with Russia at the UP International Trade Show, where Russia is the partner country.
He highlighted long-standing defence cooperation, including upcoming AK-203 rifle production, BrahMos missile manufacturing, and a defence corridor in Uttar Pradesh.
Modi emphasised Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliance), saying India must reduce external dependence and manufacture domestically.
His remarks come amid US concerns over India’s Russian oil trade and fresh trade strains following 50% tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on Indian imports.
