India has been re-elected to the ICAO Council (Part II) with more votes than in 2022, reflecting stronger global confidence.
Part II includes states contributing significantly to international air navigation facilities.
Elections were held during the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Montreal, Canada, on September 27.
ICAO Council has 36 members, elected for three-year terms by 193 member states.
India, a founding member since 1944, has been on the Council for 81 years.
