Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the world is facing profound trade and energy imbalances amid geopolitical conflicts, sanctions, and tariffs reshaping global supply chains.
She described the global era as one of structural transformation, with alliances tested, investments rerouted, and trade flows disrupted.
India stands out as a “stabilising force” with strong capacity to absorb external shocks, owing to domestic-driven growth, fiscal consolidation, and controlled inflation.
She emphasized the need for fair trade, productive finance, affordable sustainable energy, and climate action aligned with development.
