FSSAI found live insects in pistachios, mould growth, ineffective pest control, damaged equipment and a live lizard near exposed figs at its Uttar Pradesh facility.
The Maharashtra-based company’s licence was suspended over poor sanitation and hygiene practices, including food handlers working with bare hands and food being handled near decomposing waste.
The suspensions will remain in force until the companies address sanitation, pest control, waste management, infrastructure and staff-training deficiencies.
