A CAG report has flagged a ₹12.86 crore loss to the West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDCL) in the allotment of land to Flipkart's logistics arm Instakart at Haringhata Industrial Park.
The auditor said WBIDCL calculated the land price without excluding 55.89 acres of water bodies from the allocable area, deviating from its own pricing policy and resulting in a lower lease premium.
While the state government defended the pricing approved by the WBIDCL board and Cabinet, the CAG maintained that the agency failed to follow its pricing norms, causing a financial loss.
