Andhra Pradesh government announced its new bar policy for 2025–28, aiming at financial sustainability, transparency, and long-term stability in the liquor trade.
A total of 840 bars will be authorised, with 10% reserved for Geetha Kulalu, the toddy-tapping community, who will also receive a 50% concession on licence fees.
Bar licences will be allotted through a draw of lots, requiring at least four valid applications per licence to ensure fairness.
