The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) have released their holiday calendars for 2025, just days before the new year begins. In total, the Indian stock market will observe 14 holidays throughout the year, in addition to the regular weekend closures.

While many institutions may remain closed on New Year’s Day, there will be no stock market holiday on January 1. As per the holiday calendars from the BSE and NSE, trading will proceed as usual across the equity, equity derivatives, and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB) segments. The market hours will follow the standard schedule, opening at 9:15 AM and closing at 3:30 AM.

“In pursuance to clause 2 of Chapter IX of the Bye-Laws and Regulations 2.3.1 of part A Regulations of the Capital Market Segment, the Exchange hereby notifies trading holidays for the calendar year 2025,” said NSE in a note on December 13.
