Trump Made Over 1,000 Trades In June As Stock Portfolio Activity Rises

United States President Donald Trump carried out more than 1,000 securities transactions in June, buying and selling shares of major companies including Berkshire Hathaway, Visa, Mastercard and Cintas.

According to a financial disclosure published by the US Office of Government Ethics on Saturday, the transactions were collectively valued between $78.1 million and $263.1 million, with the disclosure reporting broad value ranges rather than exact amounts for individual trades, as per a report by Bloomberg (BBG).

The largest transaction disclosed for June was a sale on June 22 involving between $5 million and $25 million of a Vanguard Group exchange-traded fund.

Trump also made several trades in Palantir during the month. He bought between $1,001 and $15,000 of Palantir shares on June 3, before selling between $15,001 and $50,000 on June 16 and between $500,000 and $1 million on June 18. He subsequently bought shares again on June 23 and June 24.

The disclosure also showed Trump purchasing between $1 million and $5 million of Berkshire Hathaway on June 18, followed by a smaller sale on June 24.

He sold between $1 million and $5 million of Meta shares on June 18 before making smaller purchases later in the month.

Coinbase, Visa and Home Depot were among the other companies involved in the reported transactions.

The White House has rejected conflict-of-interest concerns, saying Trump’s investments are independently managed through automated portfolios.

"All holdings are maintained in discretionary accounts and invested through computer-based model portfolios that automatically replicate recognized indexes, such as the Schwab 1000," White House spokesman Davis Ingle said in a statement, as per BBG.

"Neither President Trump nor any member of his family has any ability to direct, influence, or provide input regarding how the portfolio is invested or when investments are bought or sold. All investment decisions are made entirely by independent managers," he added.

Portfolio Trading Has Been Extensive

The June activity follows an unusually high volume of trading disclosed by Trump for 2025. According to Bloomberg’s analysis of his financial disclosure, Trump made more than 21,000 securities trades last year, with their combined value estimated between $600 million and $1.86 billion.

He averaged about 85 trades per market day, while 10 particularly active days accounted for roughly a quarter of all transactions.

More than 200 instances involved Trump buying a security in one investment account while selling the same security in another on the same day, as per BBG.

The disclosure showed 15,524 purchases and 5,761 sales during 2025. About half of the transactions fell into the lowest reported range of $1,001 to $15,000, while trades worth $1,000 or less do not have to be disclosed.

Some of the busiest trading periods coincided with major policy developments. Bloomberg reported that 616 trades were executed on February 3, shortly before tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China were due to take effect.

Another 640 trades followed the subsequent lifting of a tariff pause, while 446 transactions took place on April 4 amid the market selloff triggered by Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariff announcements, as per the BBG report.
