Wholesale inflation rose to 1.81% in January, marking the third straight monthly increase, driven by higher prices of food, non-food items and manufactured goods.
Food and vegetable prices rebounded sharply, while manufactured products and non-food articles also saw higher inflation, even as fuel and power remained in deflation.
Retail inflation edged up to 2.75%, and the RBI, which mainly tracks retail prices, kept its key policy rate unchanged at 5.25% after earlier rate cuts.
