Reliance Industries Net Profit Jumps 78% YoY to ₹26,994 Driven by Consumer Biz and Asian Paints Stake Sale

Billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries reported a 78% year-on-year jump in net profit in the first quarter of the financial year 2026. The oil-to-telecom conglomerate’s consolidated profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹26,994 crore in Q1 FY26 compared to ₹ 17,448 crore in Q1 FY25. Its revenue from operations jumped 5.3% to ₹2,48,660 crore from ₹2,36,217 crore in Q1 in the previous fiscal. 

“Reliance has begun FY26 with robust, all-round operational and financial performance. Consolidated EBITDA for Q1 FY26 improved strongly from a year-ago period, despite significant volatility in global macros,” said Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani.

Reliance Jio’s Profits Rises 20% 

Reliance Industries telecom arm, Reliance Jio, posted a 20% jump in its profits. Jio Platforms earnings increased 24%, driven by improved ARPUs, which were close to ₹209, and a rise in subscribers. Jio maintained its stronghold as the leader in the telecom sector with per capita data consumption of 37 GB per month. 

Reliance Retail’s Revenue Jumps 11% 

Reliance Retail’s revenue increased over 11% to ₹84,171 crore in Q1 FY26, with EBITDA of ₹6,381 crore. 

“Reliance Retail delivered resilient performance during this quarter driven by our relentless focus on operational excellence, geographical expansion and sharper product portfolio,” said Reliance Retail’s executive director, Isha Ambani. 

Reliance Industries Other Businesses 

The conglomerate’s media and entertainment unit, JioStar, reported revenue of ₹9,904 crore and EBITDA of ₹1,017 crore in the first quarter of the financial year 2026, fueled by app downloads during the IPL season. 

The port-to-media subsidiary Jio Financial Services posted a net profit of ₹ 325 crore in the quarter ending in June.
