Nvidia has made a minority investment in privately held Cloverleaf Infrastructure to help develop infrastructure for AI data-centre projects across the US, according to a Reuters report. The investment will support Cloverleaf’s development of data-centre sites, while Nvidia will work on infrastructure buildouts for AI computing.

The financial terms of the investment were not disclosed. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that Nvidia was expected to invest several hundred million dollars in Cloverleaf.

The deal adds to Nvidia’s growing involvement in the physical infrastructure needed to support the expansion of AI computing. The chipmaker has also recently announced a $1.5 billion investment in SoftBank-owned data-centre developer SB Energy.

What Cloverleaf Does

Cloverleaf works with utilities, energy providers and investors to secure power and other infrastructure for data-centre sites. The company was founded in 2024 and said it has delivered multiple gigawatt-scale projects across North America.

The company will deploy Nvidia’s DSX platform as part of the partnership. The platform will help integrate decisions around site selection, power, cooling and computing infrastructure as data-centre projects are developed.

The partnership is aimed at supporting the infrastructure required for AI data centres, where access to suitable sites and power is an important part of developing new computing capacity.

Nvidia Expands AI Infrastructure Push

Nvidia’s latest investment comes as demand for AI computing continues to drive the development of new data centres. The company’s role has increasingly extended beyond supplying chips and computing systems to supporting the infrastructure needed to deploy them.

Under the partnership, Cloverleaf will focus on developing sites, while Nvidia will support infrastructure buildouts for AI computing. The two companies will also use Nvidia’s technology to bring infrastructure planning decisions together during the development process.

The Cloverleaf deal follows Nvidia’s recent announcement that it would invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy, which is developing data-centre infrastructure in the US. The latest investment signals another move by Nvidia to support the physical infrastructure needed to expand AI computing capacity.
