The top 10 franchises of IPL registered a combined revenue of more than double to Rs 6,797 crore in FY24 from Rs 3,082 crore in the previous year, making it one of the most profitable sports events.

According to a report by The Economic Times, this surge is attributed to the league's increasing commercial appeal, supported by smart media partnerships and attractive sponsorship deals.

The report stated that the IPL's brand value also went up by 13% to reach $12bn in 2024 compared to 2023. A significant surge from its $2bn valuation in 2009.
