After a stern warning from Pawan Munjal, Hero MotoCorp is witnessing resignations at the senior level. India's largest two-wheeler maker by volume has seen at least four senior executives resign.

In just the last two to three days, at least two executives have stepped down. This includes Chief Information and Digital Officer Reema Jain and HR Head for Talent Management Sameer Pande.

"It is important to clarify that the information reported is factually inaccurate. Individual people movements or exits are a part of operations in a large, dynamic organization like ours. Other than as per statutory requirements, Hero MotoCorp does not comment on individual people movements," said the EV maker in a statement.

Hero's former CEO Niranjan Gupta and Chief Business Officer Ranjivjit Singh also left the company last month.

This series of exits, according to ET, is linked to a recent warning by Hero MotoCorp’s Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal. In a company town hall on February 14, he reportedly said, “I have my eyes on each one of you,” in a message directed at underperforming employees.

Hero MotoCorp Under Pressure

This comes as the two-wheeler giant faces increasing competition in recent monthly sales. According to SIAM’s monthly sales data, Hero lost its No. 1 position to Honda and was even pushed to third place by TVS Motor Co.

TVS Motor sold a total of 403,976 units in February 2025, up 9.6% year-on-year. Meanwhile, sales at Hero MotoCorp declined 17.2% YoY to 388,068 units during the same period. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India took the top spot, selling 422,449 two-wheelers.

Despite these challenges, Hero MotoCorp reported a 12.1% year-on-year rise in net profit for Q3 FY25, reaching Rs 1,202.8 crore, surpassing market estimates.

According to FADA, India's two-wheeler retail sales declined 6.33% year-over-year in February, despite an 8.57% growth in the fiscal year to date. Urban sales fell 7.38%, while rural sales dropped 5.5%, aided by agricultural sentiment and marriage-season demand.
