Gopalpur Industrial Park Set To Drive Odisha’s Green Push With ₹65k Cr Investment Pipeline

Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP) in Odisha’s Ganjam district has emerged as a major hub for green energy equipment and advanced manufacturing in eastern India, with a cumulative investment pipeline of over ₹65,400 crore, TSSEZL said in a statement on Monday.

The industrial park, developed by Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Ltd (TSSEZL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel, has attracted investments across sectors including green hydrogen, renewable energy equipment, speciality chemicals, tyres, mineral processing and food processing, a statement by the company said.

The latest initiative is a proposed green ammonia project following the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Odisha government, Japan-based IHI Corporation, ACME Group and TSSEZL.

The agreement envisages setting up a 0.4 million tonne per annum Green Ammonia plant and a jetty-less floating terminal at Gopalpur Industrial Park, further strengthening the state’s clean energy ecosystem, it said.

TSSEZL managing director Manikanta Naik said the company’s vision of developing Gopalpur into a globally competitive industrial destination was taking shape.

"Major infrastructure projects for the supply of power and water to the industrial park by the government of Odisha have aided this cause," Naik said.

He said TSSEZL remained committed to creating world-class infrastructure and an investor-friendly ecosystem to support sustainable industrial growth.

Further strengthening the park’s renewable energy manufacturing ecosystem, TSSEZL and Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd have executed a binding land transfer agreement for a proposed ₹10,000-crore investment.

The proposed Tata Power project will focus on manufacturing solar ingots and wafers, supporting India’s clean energy ambitions and strengthening Gopalpur’s position as a green energy equipment manufacturing hub.

GIP was recently honoured with the ‘Smart Industrial Park’ award by Maritime Gateway for excellence in industrial infrastructure and innovation. The award was presented at the Smart Logistics Summit & Awards 2026 in Bhubaneswar.

Spread over nearly 2,970 acres, the park offers land in both the Special Economic Zone and Domestic Tariff Area, along with internal roads, power and water supply, drainage systems, environmental clearances and multi-modal connectivity.

Companies including Avaada GreenH2, Ocior Energy, Hygenco, Saatvik Solar Industries, World Green Energy, SRF Ltd, ATC Tires and Tata Steel have established or announced projects at the park.

The projects are expected to generate direct and indirect employment and strengthen Odisha’s position as a preferred destination for low-carbon manufacturing.
