The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) imposed a ₹5 lakh penalty on Drishti IAS (VDK Eduventures Pvt Ltd) for misleading advertisements claiming “216+ selections in UPSC CSE 2022.”
Investigation found that 75% of these candidates had only taken the free Interview Guidance Programme, not full courses, misleading aspirants about the institute’s role in their success.
This is the second penalty on Drishti IAS for similar claims; earlier, it was fined ₹3 lakh for misleading claims about UPSC CSE 2021 results.
CCPA highlighted repeated non-compliance and noted the concealment of crucial course details deprived students and parents of informed choice.
