- Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) won a contract to build a 12.9-km ropeway connecting Sonprayag with Kedarnath. 
- The Union Cabinet approved the ₹4,081 crore project in March to provide faster, safer, and eco-friendly travel for pilgrims. 
- The ropeway will reduce the traditional 9-hour trek to just 36 minutes. 
- It will carry 1,800 passengers per hour per direction, serving lakhs of pilgrims annually. 
- The project is part of the National Ropeways Development Programme – Parvatmala Pariyojana and will be executed on a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.
