Trump claims that the high percentage of international students at Harvard displaces American applicants. He said, “We have people who want to go to Harvard and other schools; they can’t get in because we have foreign students there.”
The Trump administration has already block over $2.6 billion in federal research funds to the Ivy league university, over dissatisfaction with university's policies and campus activities.

Around 788 Indian students are currently studying at Harvard. Since India sends one of the highest numbers of students to the US, this proposed cap has raised worries about fewer chances for Indian students in the future.
