Authorities have confirmed that households can no longer keep both LPG cylinders and piped natural gas connections together. If a home already uses PNG, it must surrender its LPG cylinder to comply with the updated distribution rules immediately.
The decision comes amid global oil and gas supply concerns. Ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have raised fears of disruption in energy movement, affecting countries like India that depend heavily on imported fuel supplies.
Gas companies have started sending messages to users asking them to verify their connection status. Those with both LPG and PNG connections are being instructed to surrender LPG cylinders through official channels without delay.
Authorities have warned that failure to comply may lead to strict action. LPG connections can be disconnected, refilling services may be stopped, and penalties may apply to users who do not follow the updated rule.
Users can check their LPG connection status by visiting https://mypngd.in, selecting mobile number verification, entering details, receiving an OTP, and confirming whether an LPG connection is linked to their registered number.
If online verification fails, users can check through Indane Gas, HP Gas, or Bharat Gas websites, mobile apps, customer care numbers, or old booking and subsidy SMS records to confirm connection details accurately.
