Sennheiser

It’s been a long hectic day at work. And all what your brain needs to relax and calm those pressurized nerves, away from the chaotic hustle and bustle of traffic in the city or a little break from those noisy outbursts of your boss at work, is some relaxing, soothing music that will purge you of all your pressure. What can compliment those subtle tunes and sound notes are these high-end headphones, which can bring out the best sound quality totally pampering your acoustic senses.

A perfect headphone should not only be able to intensify the acoustic experience but should also be a perfect harmony of technological construct and design. Sennheiser’s Orpheus headphones have set a benchmark for offering a complete package of exclusivity by redefining the limits of audiophile sound. These headphones stand out from conventional headphones in the market for its unique amplifier system, a heightened frequency response and quality craftsmanship in terms of design. The headphones have a unique transducer system, which enables a frequency response ranging from 8 hertz to more than 100 kilohertz. Its gold vaporized ceramic electrodes amplify the alternating voltage to give you the experience of a concert hall. The total harmonic distortion of the headphone is a mere 0.01% which ensures that there is negligible distortion of sound notes and a complete focus on natural tonal sound. Adding to its exclusivity is its historical connect. “The marble that Sennheiser chose for the amplifier housing comes from Carrara in Italy and is the same type of marble that Michelangelo used to create his sculptures,” says Kapil Gulati, director, consumer segment at Sennheiser India. Having catered to around 100 orders globally, this luxury aural masterwork can set you back by 50,000 euros or around Rs.40 lakhs in India.

A perfect unison of technological engineering and art gives rise to luxury that can pamper your hearing senses and Audeze’s LCD 4 is one such product. These headphones will leave no stone unturned to transport you to the ambience which the song creates. Priced at Rs.3 lakhs in India, the headphones are embedded with a flat diaphragm technology and constitute a Nano scale diaphragm that is 200 times thinner than a single strand of human hair. “Unlike traditional headphones, Audeze LCD4 uses a flat diaphragm technology. A very thin film is suspended between magnets and the audio signal is passed through the film to create sound. This creates more natural sound,” explains Raghav Somnani, CEO of HeadphoneZone India, an online portal for exclusive headphones. The headphones are the product of an innovation with the magnetic arrays consisting of a patented Fluxormagnetic technology making it work with greater efficiency on mobile devices. Furthermore, these are carefully designed with 30-year-old air-dried Macassar ebony wood, with its speakers and drivers hand assembled.

Not too far on this list is Beyerdynamic with its T1 Tesla Audiophile Stereo headphones that are hand crafted by the best sound engineers in Germany. Its semi-open ear-cup construction will ensure that you get that perfect aural experience without any disturbance of an external noise. The headphones, priced at Rs.78, 500, consist of featherweight aluminum components that ensure an all round comforting and give hearing a luxury touch. “Soft, velour ear cushions made from hollow fibre are further hallmarks of the new generation. They transport warmth and moisture away from the head, enabling the listener to enjoy music for hours without any unpleasant build-up of heat,” explains Shaik Ahmed, Sales Manager of Consumer Division at Beyerdynamic India. The headphone’s driver uses the thinnest copper wires to reveal the finest details while a carefully intensified bass gives fans of contemporary music, in particular, the low-frequency foundation, adds Shaik.
