Sebi chairperson Tuhin Kanta Pandey proposed a regulated pre-IPO share trading platform to replace grey market operations.
The platform may allow trading between IPO allotment and listing, reducing risks in the current unregulated system.
Sebi is exploring longer-tenure equity derivatives to reduce speculative short-term trading, where 91% of traders lost money in FY25.
Pandey said pre-listing information is often insufficient for investors to make informed decisions.
