Public sector unit BEML will manufacture Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and metro rail coaches in Umaria village, Raisen district, under a ₹1,800 crore project named BRAHMA.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone, with Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Ashwini Vaishnaw also participating.
The project is expected to create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs and spur growth of small and large industries in Bhopal and Raisen, supporting the 'Make in Madhya Pradesh' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives.
Initially, the plant will produce 125–200 coaches per year, scaling up to 1,100 coaches annually within five years.
Spread across 148 acres, the factory is near Bhojpur in Vidisha, and positions Madhya Pradesh on the national railway manufacturing map.
