Ditch the take-out, instead opt for Dineout

The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Dineout reinforces this hackneyed idiom, but with a difference. Started by four friends, the service offers customers in Delhi the chance to, well, dine out depending on their choice of cuisine, location and budget. The final hook: discounts by bookings through the website or phone-in.

Initially, it invited 75 restaurants to opt for the services but now, it has 200 restaurants (95% have discount deals). The service is free for customers (unlike competitors crazeal and dealsandyou) and can be availed through the year. Dineout charges ₹50 per customer from the restaurants as a finder’s fee. The company has raised ₹60 lakh through angel investors, valuing it at ₹4 crore. So far, it has clocked revenues of ₹20 lakh and plans to increase that by extending the service to Mumbai and Bengaluru by the end of 2013.
