Presented by Outlook Business in partnership with Epistle, Duro Design Disruptors shines a spotlight on 11 architects and designers leading the charge on sustainable development.

At the beginning of 2024, the Duro Design Disruptors’ production team set out to travel across India in search of groundbreaking practitioners working in and for the built environment – engineers, architects, designers, social workers, and more.

The mission began with identifying individuals who are challenging conventional systems of thinking in the industry. The focus was on exploring sustainability beyond token gestures, spotlighting fresh voices and different forms of practice. Covering over 5000 kilometres, the journey stretched from remote villages in Uttarakhand and Haryana to the salt plains of Kutch and the lush landscapes of Goa.

Each encounter involved spending meaningful time with these people — both on and off the camera — delving into their projects, aspirations, and unwavering determination to address some of the world's most pressing challenges.

This show is about these disruptors and their stories — but equally about where we are as a culture, as a world, and catalysing action for where we want to go.
