Grapes surged in popularity on Blinkit on New Year’s Eve, with deliveries increasing 7x compared to a typical day, revealing an unexpected shift in consumer preferences.
By 5pm, Blinkit had exceeded the total orders from NYE 2023, with order volumes continuing to surge as New Year’s Eve celebrations peak.
Unexpected product trends on Blinkit include 2,34,512 packets of Aloo Bhujia, 45,531 cans of tonic water, 6,834 ice cube packets, and 1,003 lipsticks, 762 lighters. Surprisingly, men’s underwear also saw a rise in orders.

Lemon orders spiked too, likely due to increased tequila consumption, a popular drink on New Year's Eve.
Blinkit's biggest party order of the day, worth Rs 64,988, came from Kolkata. A Hyderabad customer tipped Rs 2,500, while Bengaluru topped tipping with Rs 1,79,735. Highlights include the most orders, chips, and grapes sold, and the highest tips and OPM/OPH on New Year's Eve.
