The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for Delhi due to widespread thunderstorms and squally winds, with heavy rainfall severely affecting traffic flow and routine operations in the city.
Over 200 flights were impacted due to severe weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and strong winds, led to significant disruptions at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Flight operations were affected, causing delays and diversions as reported by The Indian Express.
Several train services in Delhi-NCR were delayed due to waterlogging and storm damage. The adverse weather affected both local and long-distance trains, adding to commuters’ troubles.
Tragically, four deaths were reported as a result of the severe weather, including incidents of house collapses and accidents caused by the storms ''Casualties Reported''.
