Ramayana Part 1, directed by Nitesh Tiwari , is set to become India’s most expensive film, with a jaw‑dropping budget of ₹835 crore. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role as Lord Rama, it promises world‑class storytelling and VFX.
Ramayana is based on sage Valmiki’s epic. The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Raavana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The ensemble also features Vivek Oberoi, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh and others in key roles.
Visual effects are being handled by Double Negative (DNEG), the Oscar-winning VFX studio behind Inception and Tenet. Action choreography is led by Mad Max’s stunt director Guy Norris for an international-quality feel.
Ravi Dubey will play the key role of Laxman in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic two-part film Ramayana: Part 1 and 2. Known for his work in Hindi television, he now stars in a project with a bigger budget than Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva (₹410 crore).
Ravi Dubey, is best known for his Hindi television series Jamaai Raja (2014–2017), studied electronics and telecom engineering at RGIT, Mumbai, inspired by his father, a civil engineer. He started with modelling before debuting in Stree... Teri Kahaani (2006–2007).
Ravi Dubey and his wife Sargun Mehta, married on 7 December 2013, share a combined net worth of around ₹150 crore. Together, they co-founded Dreamiyata Entertainment, producing hit shows like Udaariyaan, Junooniyat, Dalchini and Badall Pe Paon Hai. They’ve also launched a music label and OTT platform, expanding into regional and Hindi content. Ravi also reunited with Nia Sharma in Jamai 2.0 (2019–2021).
The couple leases a luxury Bandra apartment for ₹11 lakh/month and owns homes in Mumbai and Punjab. Ravi endorses multiple brands, while Sargun earns up to ₹2 crore per Punjabi film. Their growing wealth spans investments in real estate, entertainment and digital media.
A video recently surfaced showing Ravi and Ranbir Kapoor getting emotional on the final day of shoot. The heartfelt moment marked the wrap-up of Ramayana: Part 1’s filming schedule.
The first glimpse of Ramayana was unveiled on 3 July. The first part of the film, titled Ramayana: Part 1, is scheduled for a Diwali 2026 release.
