Aamir Khan returns to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, the spiritual sequel to his much-loved 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. This heartfelt drama, starring Genelia Deshmukh alongside several newcomers.
Sitaare Zameen Par earned approximately ₹11.5 crore across all Indian languages on its first day, as per Sacnilk trade tracking .
The Film saw an occupancy rate of 21.43% in Hindi-speaking regions, with the highest audience turnout during night shows, reflecting growing interest by the end of the day.
Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by RS Prasanna and stars Genelia D’Souza. The film is backed by Aamir Khan, Vedant Sharmaa, Rishabh Jain and Gopi Krishnan Varma, promising a powerful creative lineup.
The Film opened slightly below Aamir Khan’s last film Laal Singh Chaddha, which earned ₹11.7 crore on Day 1 in 2022 but ended its run with only ₹60 crore.
Back in 2007, Taare Zameen Par opened with a modest ₹2 crore, yet steadily climbed the box office charts—proving Aamir Khan’s films often build success through emotional connect and strong viewer support.
Though the Day 1 numbers aren’t huge, Sitaare Zameen Par is expected to pick up over the weekend, boosted by positive audience feedback and emotional storytelling.
