Indian stock exchanges Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) remains shut on April 14, 2025, to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
As per the 2025 stock market holiday calendar, trading is closed today, April 14 (Monday), due to the scheduled holiday. There will be no activity in equity, derivatives, SLB, currency, or interest rate segments.
The commodity derivatives market at Multi Exchange Commodity (MCX) will be closed in the morning session but open from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm.
Indian stock markets will also remain shut on Friday, April 18, for Good Friday. It will make this a four-day trading week.
On April 12, Nifty gained 429 points following a gap-up opening of 297 points. It later entered range-bound movement but closed on a strong note.
Indian rupee appreciated due to stronger Asian currencies and a pause in US-China trade tensions. It closed at 86.05 vs 86.69 on Wednesday.
Trading across equity, F&O, and currency segments will resume on April 15 as investors brace for volatility amid U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs.
