PepsiCo India announced Savitha Balachandran as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for India and South Asia, taking over from Kaushik Mitra, who will retire on April 15 this year after a long tenure.
Kaushik Mitra, who will step down after 24 years at PepsiCo India, held senior leadership positions across India and the Asia Pacific, providing strong financial stewardship throughout his career.
On the other hand, PepsiCo stated that Savitha Balachandran will take over as CFO following a structured transition, ensuring seamless continuity in financial management and alignment with the company’s leadership team and strategic objectives.
In her new role, Savitha Balachandran will oversee PepsiCo’s finance operations across India and South Asia, driving financial strategy, governance, performance management and supporting the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Balachandran worked at Tata Technologies as CFO, where she managed financial strategy, grew profits and led the company’s 2023 stock market listing, showing strong leadership skills.
She also held senior finance leadership roles at Tata Motors, gaining extensive experience in managing finance functions at top Indian corporates before joining PepsiCo India.
PepsiCo India operates 36 beverage plants (13 company-owned, 23 franchisee) and three food plants. Its portfolio includes iconic brands like Pepsi, Lay’s, Kurkure, Tropicana, Gatorade, Quaker, Nimbooz and Aliva.
