Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday. After posting a target of 191 runs, RCB successfully held PBKS to 184, securing the win by six runs. With this victory, Virat Kohli’s side, led by Rajat Patidar earned a prize of ₹20 crore.
"This win is for the fans and the team alike. After 18 long years, I’ve given my youth, prime, and experience to this team, trying every season to bring home the trophy," said Virat Kohli. “To finally achieve it feels incredible. I never imagined this day would come,” he added.
As champions, RCB received a prize of ₹20 crore. The runner-up, Punjab Kings, earned ₹12.5 crore, while Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans secured ₹7 crore and ₹6.5 crore, respectively.
The parade for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), scheduled for today, has been cancelled due to traffic and logistical concerns, according to Bengaluru Traffic Police. Instead, the Karnataka government will host a felicitation ceremony at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium from 5 to 6 PM.
Krunal Pandya was named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, taking 2 wickets for just 17 runs. Captain Rajat Patidar led the team with composure, while Virat Kohli's leadership and experience were pivotal throughout the tournament.
Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans won the Orange Cap with 759 runs, while Prasidh Krishna, also from Gujarat Titans, claimed the Purple Cap with 25 wickets in 15 matches.
RCB's victory was marked by emotional celebrations, with Virat Kohli shedding tears of joy and lifting the trophy alongside his teammates.
