The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued its official list of bank holidays for November 2025. The schedule varies across states, depending on regional, national, and religious celebrations.
Apart from designated holidays, banks will remain closed on all Sundays, as well as the second and fourth Saturdays, in November 2025 across India.
Banks in Karnataka will remain closed on 1 November for Kannada Rajyothsava, while Dehradun will observe Igas-Bagwal, locally known as Budhi Deepawali, celebrating cultural and regional unity.
On 5 November, banks across cities including Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar will remain closed for major festivities such as Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, and Rahas Purnima, celebrated across different regions of India.
Banks in Shillong will remain shut on 6 November for Nongkrem Dance, a Khasi festival celebrated with traditional rituals, dancing, and ceremonial offerings to mark gratitude.
All banks in Shillong will also remain closed on 7 November to celebrate the Wangala Festival, when tribes honour Saljong, the Sun God, through music and dance.
Banks in Bengaluru will remain closed on 8 November to observe Kanakadasa Jayanthi, a day that honours the birth anniversary of poet and social reformer Shri Kanakadasa through devotional and cultural celebrations.
Even on bank holidays, customers can use online and mobile banking services to manage accounts and payments. Unless notified of technical issues, these services remain fully functional.
ATMs operate as also usual on holidays, ensuring cash withdrawals during emergencies. Customers can also use their bank’s app or Unified Payments Interface (UPI) for quick payments.
