Prime Minister Modi led the 11th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam on June 21, performing asanas and promoting the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” a call for global well-being and inner harmony.
This year’s theme highlighted the holistic bond between individual wellness and planetary well‑being, echoing ancient philosophies like “Sarve Santu Niramaya” .
Ten signature events like Yoga Sangam, Yoga Bandhan, Harit Yoga and Yoga Connect are being held this year to boost public participation. From global summits to green drives, the aim is inclusive, youth-led, and internationally engaged yoga promotion.
Over 3 lakh people will join PM Modi in Visakhapatnam for the Common Yoga Protocol, linked live with more than 10 lakh locations across India in the largest-ever synchronized yoga gathering.
Set between 6:30 and 7:45 AM, the nationwide event is expected to set new records in turnout and coordination, marking a powerful display of India's wellness-driven public movement.
Over 2 crore people across Andhra Pradesh are expected to participate n in yoga sessions at 1 lakh locations, marking one of the largest state-level contributions to International Yoga Day 2025.
The Andhra Pradesh government is aiming for a Guinness World Record, while also awarding 50 lakh yoga certificates to registered participants—making this year’s celebration both historic and high-impact.
Delhi also joined the celebrations with yoga sessions at 109 locations, including a major event at the Red Fort. PM Modi urged Gram Pradhans nationwide to boost participation, stating, "It is a matter of pride that yoga has positively transformed lives not only in India but across the world."
Against a target of 1 lakh, over 11 lakh groups registered for the June 21 Yoga Sangam via the Ministry of Ayush portal. Rajasthan led all states with an impressive 2.25 lakh registrations.
