Chinese conglomerate Alibaba has launched Happy Oyster, a new artificial intelligence (AI) world model designed to generate 3D environments and interactive videos that simulate real-world physics.
Alibaba said the model differs from standard AI video tools by continuously responding during generation instead of producing a single finished clip, allowing scenes to evolve in real time as users keep adding prompts and modifying outputs.
Alibaba said in its official blog that Happy Oyster works in two modes, Directing and Wandering. In Directing mode, it creates a continuous world where lighting, gravity and motion stay consistent, while users can change scenes, characters and camera angles in real time.
Meanwhile, in Wandering mode, users can generate and explore an endlessly expanding world from a single prompt, moving freely in a first-person view with standard controls while the environment continues to grow and stay consistent.
According to Alibaba, Directing mode can generate up to three minutes of video at 480p or 720p resolution, while Wandering mode currently supports one-minute videos at 480p with full audio and video output.
The company said Happy Oyster can support real-time film production, quick storyboarding and interactive short series where viewer choices shape outcomes, while also helping game developers turn prompts into structured playable worlds for concept creation.
Alibaba has made Happy Oyster available in early access, allowing users to join a waitlist through its official website as the company continues to develop the model and expand its creative and interactive capabilities.
