Meta has introduced new paid subscription plans for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp users globally, including in India. The company is adding premium tools, profile upgrades and messaging features as it expands beyond advertising-based revenue models.
According to a report by TechCrunch, Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are priced at $3.99 per month, roughly ₹387, while WhatsApp Plus costs $2.99, around ₹290. As of now, Meta has not yet confirmed the official India pricing.
Instagram Plus users will be able to check Story rewatches, create unlimited audience lists and secretly preview Stories without appearing in the viewer list while also getting additional visibility-focused tools, the report said.
The subscription also lets users extend Stories beyond the standard 24-hour limit and spotlight one Story every week for extra reach. Users can also search Story viewers and post directly to highlights without appearing in feeds.
Instagram Plus users will get animated Super Heart reactions, custom app icons, profile pins and special bio fonts. Meta is also expected to bring similar premium cosmetic upgrades and features to Facebook Plus subscribers.
WhatsApp Plus is focused on messaging personalisation features. Subscribers will receive custom themes, unique ringtones, premium stickers, more pinned chats and advanced list customisation tools designed to personalise the messaging experience further.
Meta has also introduced Meta One AI subscriptions. Meta One Plus will cost $7.99 per month while Meta One Premium is priced at $19.99 and offers higher usage limits for image generation, video creation and AI tools.
Meta said users can still access its AI chatbot for free. However, people heavily using image generation, video creation and advanced AI tools may eventually face usage limits unless they subscribe to paid plans.
Meanwhile, the company has also launched creator and business-focused subscriptions called Meta One Essential and Meta One Advanced. These plans include verification benefits, analytics, customer support and improved visibility features for creators and businesses.
