Embattled telecom service provider Vodafone Idea has appointed Tejas Mehta as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and key managerial personnel (KMP), effective 6 October 2025.
Tejas Mehta succeeds Murthy GVAS as Vodafone Idea’s CFO, following the conclusion of Murthy’s tenure on 5 October 2025.
Tejas Mehta, aged 49, joins Vodafone Idea from Mondelēz India, where he served as CFO, bringing over 25 years of extensive experience across India and international markets.
Mehta started his career at Marico Industries and later joined Mondelēz India in 2002 as Treasury Manager. Over two decades, he held senior roles globally, including London, Thailand, Turkey, and Asia Pacific, before returning to India as Mondelēz India’s CFO in 2022.
Mehta has consistently driven business growth during volatile economic conditions, strengthened processes, established regional Centres of Excellence, and led global initiatives focused on functional excellence and talent development throughout his extensive career.
The board of directors approved Tejas Mehta’s appointment following recommendations from the audit committee and the nomination and remuneration committee.
Vodafone Idea, India’s third-largest telecom operator, backed by Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group, holds 5G spectrum in 17 circles and mmWave spectrum in 16, offering 2G, 4G, and expanding 5G services nationwide.
