Anthropic has introduced Claude for Healthcare, a new service designed to support medical use cases, as artificial intelligence (AI) tools see wider adoption across the healthcare sector.
In addition to healthcare tools, Anthropic has strengthened Claude’s life sciences features, allowing it to link with scientific platforms and assist with clinical trials and regulatory workflows.
The company is expanding Claude with new connectors that pull data from trusted medical databases, helping users navigate and understand healthcare information more effectively.
Claude can now connect to databases including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Coverage Database, ICD-10 codes, and the National Provider Identifier Registry.
Anthropic is also adding new connectors to Claude, pulling data from industry-standard medical systems, while the company said itis positioned to support startups and large enterprises integrating artificial intelligence into medical workflows.
For individuals, Claude can access lab results and health records to summarise medical history, explain test results simply, identify patterns, and help prepare questions for doctor appointments.
Anthropic says integrations are private by design, requiring user consent, allowing permission control at any time, and confirming that personal health data is not used to train models.
Claude for Healthcare is limited to US users on Pro and Max plans, with select connectors in beta and broader health platform access rolling out gradually on mobile apps.
