The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Dineout reinforces this hackneyed idiom, but with a difference. Started by four friends, the service offers customers in Delhi the chance to, well, dine out depending on their choice of cuisine, location and budget. The final hook: discounts by bookings though the website or phone-in. Initially, it invited 75 restaurants to opt for the services but now, it has 200 restaurants (95% have discount deals). The service is free for customers (unlike competitors crazeal and dealsandyou) and can be availed through the year. Dineout charges Rs 50 per customer from the restaurants as a finder’s fee. The company has raised Rs 60 lakh through angel investors, valuing it at Rs 4 crore. So far, it has clocked revenues of Rs 20 lakh and plans to increase that by extending the service to Mumbai and Bengaluru by the end of 2013.
