Motorola has been teasing the Edge 70 series in India with three colour variants. The company confirmed in a post on X (formerly twitter) that the phone will launch on 15 December.
Motorola is highlighting the Edge 70’s ultra-slim design as a key selling point, showcasing on Flipkart how its 5.99 mm thickness is slimmer than a standard 7 mm pencil.
The Edge 70, already launched in select markets, features a 6.67-inch 1.5K pOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 4,500-nit peak brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
The smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip, paired with up to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. It operates on Android 16 straight out of the box.
Its rear cameras include a 50 MP primary sensor with optical stabilisation and a 50 MP ultra-wide unit. A 50 MP front camera supports selfies and video calls, with 4K video at 30 fps.
The device offers IP68 and IP69 protection, military-grade durability, a 4,800 mAh battery and 68 W fast charging. With rising memory costs, its India pricing may start near ₹30,000.
This year featured a range of ultra-slim smartphones, but most struggled with sales. Industry rumours suggest Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge and Apple’s iPhone Air might not receive successors soon.
