Big Tech giant Microsoft is all set to kick off its annual developers' conference today, with a strong focus on AI. Reports say the event will feature numerous product announcements and updates to Windows, Azure, and other developer tools, along with a keynote speech from CEO Satya Nadella.
The keynote sessions, including one from CEO Satya Nadella, will be livestreamed on Microsoft’s official YouTube channel. Microsoft Build 2025 will run through May 22 in Seattle.
Reports says major updates are expected for Copilot, Microsoft’s flagship AI assistant. New features like semantic search in Windows Settings, File Explorer, and the taskbar are likely. Upgrades to Copilot Agents — designed to automate complex tasks — could also be unveiled.
Windows 11 is reportedly set to receive enhancements, including a wider rollout of the Recall feature — a memory tool for Copilot+ PCs. Other system-level updates and optimisations may be announced, though Windows 12 is not expected.
Azure might see updates focused on enterprise AI solutions. Microsoft may announce improvements to its partnership with OpenAI or even debut its rumoured in-house language model, potentially reshaping Azure’s AI ecosystem.
Although reports rule out any major hardware, Microsoft might tease Project Kennan — a handheld device co-developed with Asus. No further Surface or gaming hardware announcements are expected before the Xbox event on June 8.
Microsoft may unveil new Copilot Agent features, first announced in April, and share updates on its in-house large language model — a potential shift away from relying on OpenAI's ChatGPT.
