Google Meet faced a widespread outage today across India, with users unable to join meetings. A sudden rise in reports highlighted severe connectivity problems disrupting routine work calls and daily online activities.
Downdetector.in saw almost 2,000 complaints as outage reports climbed rapidly. A large share of users said they couldn’t join meetings, revealing how extensive the disruption was across India.
Around 66% of users faced website loading problems, while nearly 32% reported server failures. Together, these issues blocked many from joining calls and revealed significant system instability during the outage.
A small segment, around 2%, experienced poor video quality. Although less widespread than other problems, it still contributed to the inconvenience users faced during the nationwide Google Meet outage.
Major metropolitan hubs such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad reported dense outage clusters. Users in these cities experienced notable disruptions while trying to join their ongoing Google Meet sessions.
Many users encountered the “502. That’s an error” message while joining meetings. This bad gateway error typically indicates temporary server failure on Google’s side, preventing the platform from loading properly.
Netizens voiced clear frustration on social platforms as meetings stopped abruptly. Many shared screenshots of error messages and detailed how the outage disrupted their work calls, online classes and scheduled sessions.
