Naveen Tahilyani, CEO of Tata Digital and former Tata AIA MD is stepping down on June 30. He was appointed in February 2024 to lead the digital arm housing Tata Neu, BigBasket and online pharmacy 1mg.
Naveen Tahilyani, will join Prudential Plc as regional CEO for India, Africa, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, with added responsibility for the health vertical.
Tahilyani was handpicked by Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran to steer Tata Digital toward profitability and stability.
With degrees from IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad, Tahilyani has 17 years at McKinsey under his belt, plus key leadership roles at Tata AIA and Axis Bank.
During his tenure at Tata Digital, Naveen Tahilyani made strategic leadership appointments to strengthen the company's technological and data capabilities. He brought in Vinay Vaidya, a former Amazon executive, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Jairaj Sathyanarayana, who had experience at Swiggy and Amazon, as Chief Data & AI Officer.
Naveen Tahilyani also hired Satyam Mehra, ex-Zomato, as Chief Strategy Officer during his brief but impactful tenure.
BigBasket, under Tata Digital, is eyeing more funds to expand quick commerce even as the top seat becomes vacant.
