Aditya Birla Capital has appointed Vishakha Mulye as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a five-year term beginning September 1.
Mulye currently serves as a director on the board of Aditya Birla Management Corporation Private Limited (ABMCPL), AB Capital said, which is the apex body providing strategic direction and vision to all Aditya Birla Group businesses.
Since 2022, Mulye has also led the ‘One ABC, One P&L’ strategy, aimed at delivering a unified customer experience and integrating operations through the principles of One Customer, One Experience, and One Team.
According to the company statement, Mulye reshaped Aditya Birla Capital’s business model by leveraging data, digital solutions, and technology, which strengthened its platforms and simplified financial services, making them more accessible to customers across varied business segments.
Under Mulye’s guidance, ABC also widened its portfolio to cover loans, investments, insurance, and payments, solidifying its reputation as a full-spectrum financial services provider for both retail and institutional clients.
Mulye also played a key role in launching ‘ABCD,’ a mobile-first omnichannel D2C platform delivering end-to-end financial solutions, and ‘Udyog Plus,’ a B2B digital lending platform tailored for micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Before joining Aditya Birla Group, Vishakha Mulye held senior leadership roles at ICICI Group. As Executive Director on ICICI Bank’s board, she oversaw domestic and international wholesale banking, proprietary trading, markets, and transaction banking, while also serving as MD & CEO of ICICI Venture.
Vishakha Mulye was also Group CFO at ICICI Bank and played a pivotal role in the merger of ICICI and ICICI Bank, forming India’s second-largest private bank. She also led structured finance, chaired ICICI Bank Canada, and served on ICICI Lombard’s board.
Meanwhile, AB Capital, under Vishakha Mulye’s guidance, raised ₹4,500 crore in growth capital through preferential issuances, qualified institutional placements, and stake sales in select businesses.
