US President Donald Trump has launched Trump Mobile, a 5G wireless service with a $499 smartphone. The announcement was made Monday at Trump Tower in New York, marking his entry into the mobile industry.
Trump Mobile is a new wireless service launched by the Trump Organization, offering unlimited talk, text and data under a plan called “The 47 Plan.”
T1 features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, runs Android 15, and includes an in-screen fingerprint sensor. It offers a 50MP triple rear camera, 16MP front camera, 12GB RAM and 256GB storage expandable via microSD.
Trump Mobile will operate as a virtual network provider, using infrastructure from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. Its $47.45 monthly 5G plan is priced lower than major carriers but higher than smaller rivals like Boost or Cricket.
Donald Trump Jr, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organisation, said, “...get telemedicine on their phones for one flat monthly fee, roadside assistance on their cars, unlimited texting to 100 countries around the world”.
The Trump Organization has unveiled the “T1”—a sleek, gold smartphone claimed to be designed and built in the US. While the manufacturer remains unnamed, the official launch is expected in August this year, according to The Economic Times.
The Trump Organization clarified it won't design the phone or run the service directly. Trump Mobile will operate under a licensing deal, similar to earlier ventures like Trump Steaks and Trump University, with US-based call centers included.
