Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ganga Expressway on April 29, 2026. 594 kilometre connects Bijauli in Meerut to Judapur Dandu in Prayagraj. six-lane access-controlled expressway expandable to eight lanes offering alternative to NH-19 logistics growth.
Covers 12 districts including Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj, linking western and eastern Uttar Pradesh, improving access to 500 villages with 960 metre Ganga bridge and 720 metre Ramganga bridge.

Project split into four construction packages and linked with the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. It connects to Noida International Airport via the Jewar Link, with future plans to extend the corridor towards Haridwar and Ballia for stronger regional connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.
UPEIDA has set toll plazas at Meerut and Prayagraj. Cars are charged ₹1,800 one way or ₹2.55 per km. Two-wheelers and tractors pay ₹1.28 per km, mini buses ₹2,840, buses and trucks ₹5,720–₹8,760, and heavy haulers ₹11,265, with 20% return discount within 24 hours.
Ganga Expressway allows speeds up to 120 kmph, cutting travel time between Meerut and Prayagraj from 12–13 hours to 6–7 hours. It uses an Intelligent Traffic Management System and AI-based surveillance to detect accidents in real time and alert emergency teams quickly.
Ganga Expressway aims to make Uttar Pradesh a global logistics hub by improving connectivity and enabling faster market access for villages while strengthening transport efficiency across western and eastern regions.
