Swedish furniture giant IKEA has appointed Patrik Antoni as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its India operations, effective August 2025. The announcement came on Tuesday, 22 July, marking a key leadership shift.
Patrik Antoni's appointment follows the resignation of Susanne Pulverer, who served as Country Retail Manager and Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) after a 28-year-long career with the Swedish home furnishings giant. “While now handing over to new leadership, I am excited to start a new chapter in my life,” she said, according to the company's statement.
“I am honoured and excited to return to India, a market close to my heart and career. I look forward to building on the strong foundation and tapping into the immense growth potential,” said Antoni, stressing IKEA’s goal to become more accessible in India.
According to the official announcement, Antoni will take on overall responsibility for retail operations in India and shared functions across Ingka Group companies operating in the country.
Antoni began his IKEA career as Expansion Manager in Russia, later moving to Portugal as Marketing Manager, where he worked for over four years, as per his LinkedIn profile.
After his stint in Portugal, Antoni joined IKEA India as Country Communications Manager, marking the start of his deep engagement with the Indian market.
Patrik Antoni holds a Bachelor's degree in International Business from Stockholm University and brings over a decade of experience with IKEA across multiple global roles.
IKEA currently operates large-format stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru, along with a city store in Worli, Mumbai. It offers free delivery across cities like Delhi-NCR, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, and Chandigarh. Patrik Antoni will now oversee retail operations and shared functions across IKEA’s India business.
