One of Bollywood's most celebrated events, the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), is set to take place in Rajasthan's Jaipur from March 7 to 9. This is only the second time the privately organised event is happening in India.
According to a report by Jagran Josh, Rajasthan has allocated Rs 100 crore for the event, with Rs 20 crore from the Rajasthan Industrial and Investment Corporation (RIICO), Rs 50 crore from the state government, and Rs 30 crore from the tourism department.
Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari says that the event would attract global attention, showcase both popular and hidden tourist destinations, and potentially encourage more film shoots in the state, boosting tourism.
IIFA's silver jubilee celebrations will begin in Jaipur, travel across India, and conclude in London, where the event debuted 25 years ago, paying tribute to its roots in India.
For 25 years, IIFA has been hosted in exotic international locations, with Bollywood stars adding to its glamour. From South Africa and Malaysia to the UK and Canada, the event has travelled worldwide.
IIFA will host three grand events across India, beginning at Jaipur’s JECC from March 7-9. The celebrations kicked off with a panel on ‘The Journey of Women in Cinema’ featuring Madhuri Dixit and Guneet Monga. On March 8, a press conference and the inaugural IIFA Digital Awards will take place. The grand finale on March 9 will honour Sholay’s 50th anniversary with Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, alongside the IIFA Awards Night celebrating Bollywood’s top talents.
Tickets for IIFA 2025 are available on the official IIFA website and the District app by Zomato. Prices vary from Rs 3,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh based on seating and exclusivity.
This year's award ceremony will be hosted by actor Kartik Aaryan and director-producer Karan Johar. Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon will perform at the event.
