Franchise brand values have surged in 2025, with Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) leading the charts, as per a new report by Houlihan Lokey. Overall, Indian Premier League (IPL) valuation also jumped significantly.
MS Dhoni led-Chennai Super Kings top the chart with a brand value of $231 million, up 52% from last year, the highest among all teams.
Mumbai Indians (MI) are valued at $119 million, showing a 36% rise, driven by a strong brand presence despite recent performance struggles, said the report of independent global investment bank.
Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is valued at $117 million, driven by strong fan engagement and digital popularity.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) value has also jumped by 38%, supported by on-field success and strong marketing.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) saw its value grow by 76%, reaching $85 million, the highest growth rate among all teams. Rajasthan Royals (RR) follows with a brand value of $81 million.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT) fall in the mid-tier range, with brand values of $80 million and $69 million, respectively.
Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants have the lowest values at $68 million and $60 million, respectively.
The IPL’s total brand value has also risen by 6.5% to $16.4 billion, driven by sponsorships and global viewership.
