Forbes unveiled its 2025 ranking of the 400 richest people in America, once again placing Tesla CEO Elon Musk at the top. With a fortune of $428 billion, he leads the list for the fourth consecutive year, becoming the first person in the world to surpass $400 billion in net worth.
Elon Musk tops Forbes’ 2025 list, followed by Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison ($276 billion) and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($253 billion). Other top tech billionaires include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ($241billion) and Google co-founders Larry Page ($179 billion) and Sergey Brin ($166 billion).
Forbes’ 2025 list features leading figures from diverse sectors. Finance and investment magnates include Warren Buffett, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway ($150 billion), Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer ($153 billion), Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang ($151 billion), and Dell Technologies CEO Michael Dell ($129 billion).
Among America’s wealthiest in 2025, Rob Walton & family ($118 billion) and Jim Walton & family ($115 billion) lead Walmart’s retail empire. Michael Bloomberg ($109 billion), who built Bloomberg LP into a global financial and media company, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($107 billion) also rank among the top.
Women represent just over 15% of the Forbes 400 in 2025. Walmart heiress Alice Walton ($106 billion) remains the wealthiest woman in America, while Diane Hendricks ($22.3 billion), founder of ABC Supply, retains her position as the richest self-made woman.
According to Forbes , the combined fortune of America’s 400 wealthiest individuals has risen to $6.6 trillion. That’s an increase of over $1 trillion from last year, reflecting higher asset values and stronger market-driven gains.
Technology leads the Forbes 2025 rankings, driven by companies such as Tesla, Oracle, Meta, Google, and Microsoft. Other major sources of wealth include retail leaders Walmart and Amazon, financial services, healthcare, semiconductors, and enterprises in media and real estate space.
California and Texas remain the top states for billionaires in 2025, home to Elon Musk, Michael Dell, Larry Ellison, and the Walton family. Other states with a strong billionaire presence include Florida, New York and Washington, reflecting the geographic spread of wealth across the nation.
