Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has announced the total outlay for Budget 2025 worth Rs 1 trillion, about 31% increase from the previous year. The national capital's expenditure for FY26 is proposed to be doubled to Rs 28,000 crore.
Delhiites will now be covered under Ayushman Bharat with a Rs 10 lakh insurance cover --- Rs 5 lakh from the Centre and an additional Rs 5 lakh top-up by the state government.
In Delhi, new 'CM Shri Schools' will be established. And for this, CM Gupta has allocated Rs 100 crore. In addition, she has also announced Rs 750 crore for distributing free laptops to 1,200 Class X pass-outs.
The newly-elected BJP government in Delhi will also spend Rs 1,000 crore for the betterment of transport lines in the national capital.
For women's safety, the Delhi government has proposed the installation of 50,000 CCTV cameras across the city.
The Delhi government has allocated Rs 300 crore and Rs 506 crore for environment along with forest department to combat air pollution.
The chief minister announced an allocation of Rs 6,897 crore for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Delhi CM also stated that the national capital will host the Global Investment Summit every two years. The government will also introduce a new industrial policy to make Delhi "an investment and innovation-friendly city".
