Oil marketing companies cut the price of 19 kg commercial Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by ₹51.50, effective September 1, offering relief for businesses nationwide.
From September 1, Delhi’s 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder price drops from ₹1,631.50 to ₹1,580, while prices of 14.2 kg domestic cylinders remain at ₹853.
Meanwhile, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai will see commercial LPG cylinders reduced to ₹1,684, ₹1,531.5, and ₹1,738 respectively. Domestic cylinder prices remain unchanged in these cities.
Prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder have stayed steady since April 8, ensuring that households are not impacted by commercial price fluctuations.
Commercial LPG cylinder prices changed multiple times in 2025: ₹1,762 in April, small adjustments in February and March, ₹1,723.50 in June, ₹58.50 cut in July, and ₹33.50 reduction in August, showing the ongoing monthly revisions by oil marketing companies.
LPG prices for commercial cylinders change often because of global crude oil price fluctuations, local taxes, and transportation costs. These factors make it necessary for oil companies to adjust commercial cylinder rates regularly.
Frequent LPG price changes may affect commercial enterprises and small businesses relying on cooking gas, as operational costs fluctuate with monthly revisions.
On August 8, 2025, the Union Cabinet had also approved ₹30,000 crore compensation to oil companies, paid in 12 instalments, to help maintain stable LPG prices amid global uncertainties.
